2. Scope of Services
Aurora Coates Bookkeeping provides professional bookkeeping, financial recordkeeping, and related consulting services as described in service agreements or communications with each client.
We do not provide legal, investment, or tax advice unless explicitly stated in a written agreement.
Our services may include:
General bookkeeping and reconciliations
Payroll preparation and processing
Financial report generation
Accounts receivable/payable tracking
Liaison with accountants or tax professionals
All services are provided in accordance with professional standards and applicable laws.
3. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
Provide accurate, complete, and timely financial information and documentation.
Maintain lawful business practices and financial transparency.
Respond promptly to requests for information or clarification.
Ensure that login credentials or software access (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) are provided securely.
We are not responsible for errors or omissions resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, or delayed client information.
4. Fees and Payment
Fees will be clearly outlined in your proposal, service agreement, or invoice.
Payments are due on the terms specified on the invoice (typically within 15–30 days).
Late payments may incur a late fee or suspension of services until the balance is paid.
For ongoing services, recurring payments or retainers may be required.

5. Confidentiality
We treat all client information as strictly confidential. Your financial records and personal details will not be shared with third parties except:
With your written consent;
When required by law; or

Confidentiality continues indefinitely, even after termination of our engagement.

7. Limitation of Liability
While we take great care in performing our services, Aurora Coates Bookkeeping is not liable for:
Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services;
Financial losses due to errors caused by incomplete or inaccurate client-provided information;
Decisions made by you or third parties based on reports or information we provide.
Our total liability for any claim related to our services will not exceed the total amount paid by the client for the services rendered in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
8. Professional Judgment
Bookkeeping involves interpretation of data provided by the client. While we strive for accuracy, our work is dependent on the integrity and completeness of client submissions. Final responsibility for the accuracy of financial statements remains with the client.
9. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate the engagement at any time with written notice.
Upon termination:
All outstanding fees become immediately due;
We may retain copies of work completed to date for recordkeeping;
You will receive any deliverables or records that are rightfully yours upon settlement of the account.
We reserve the right to suspend or end services immediately for non-payment, unethical conduct, or misuse of our work.
10. Intellectual Property
All materials, templates, processes, and tools used in our services remain the intellectual property of Aurora Coates Bookkeeping unless otherwise agreed in writing.
You may use any reports or outputs we prepare solely for your internal business purposes.
11. Third-Party Services
We may use or recommend third-party tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Dext, Google Workspace). We are not responsible for their performance, data handling, or outages. Use of these tools is subject to each provider’s own terms and conditions.
12. Governing Law
